Development Progress: Egg hatching mechanic improvements
Mimosa and the Clocktower » Devlog
Hello. You might’ve noticed that I have moved development updates to general devlog posts. I decided to just share progress made outside of the devlog forums, so there’s more reach and interest.
Anyways, with some assistance, I have made adjustments to the way the egg hatches at the start of the game.
- The egg will no longer take damage when jumping. Hatching now requires it to take intentional fall damage by jumping (yes, seriously. Then again, eggs are fragile…).
- Improved the animation for the egg. Depending on how much hp the egg has left, cracks will now form. Also, the squish frame has been removed because it would make the animation look awkward.
- Finally, upon hatching out of the egg, a burst of eggshells will appear.
That’s all for now. Depending on how far I’ll get into development, more updates will ensue, but this time outside the devlog forums.
